Interrupters, mechanical.-In a magneto ignition system for internal-combustion engines wherein a battery is used at starting, the contact-breakers in the battery and magneto circuits are fixed to the magneto armature and in such positions as to cause sparking after and before the crank reaches the dead-centre respectively. The part f of the magneto contact-breaker contacts with or is connected with the collector ring d of the battery contact-breaker which has an insulated metal bar c diametrically across its face. Switches.-The circuits are opened and closed by means of a multiple-plate switch. When the handle 7 is in the position 4 a circuit is closed through the battery C, auto-trembler t, spring blades r, s, contact h, screw e, primary of the induction coil and the earth ; when the handle 7 is in the position shown a circuit is closed through the magneto, shown as being also the primary of the induction coil, contact-breaker f, collector d, contact j, spring blades x, m, n, contact i and screw e; when the handle 7 is in the position 3, both circuits are opened.
