Abstract

28,229. Westerby, T., and Fawcett, M. B. Dec. 23. Printing in light colours on dark ground ; inkless printing by chemical reaction.-White straight lines upon a tinted ground are produced upon writing and like paper by the principle of " reverse" printing. By this means, a surface or tint is produced upon the paper with the lines omitted, these being formed by the exposed surface of the paper. The lines may be produced by any of the modes in use by letterpress, lithographic, and other printers, or by the method of printing from engraved cylinders, or by the process of printing by chemical reaction, or by printing in discharging colour.
