Abstract

Evaporators. - In apparatus for evaporating saccharine &c. liquors, in which the liquid is delivered in spray or drops so as to be distributed as a film over the heating-surface, the spraying- pipe h is carried by a wheel c provided at its periphery with a channel g and inclined vanes i. The liquor entering by the pipe j impinges on the vanes and thus imparts a rotary motion to the wheel. The wheel is suspended by arms d from a bearing e, which is mounted so as to be out of contact with the incoming liquid.
