Felloes or rims.-A wheel rim is formed with three rings, two outer ones a of the same diameter, and a centrally disposed one b of less diameter ; the three are held in relative position by distance-pieces c. In the trougb so formed is placed a plate d of troughshaped cross-section the upper and preferably beaded edges of which do not quite reach the rings a, thus leaving intervening spaces for the insertion of the beaded edges of the tyre cover. The rim may be formed in sections as shown in Fig. 4, in which the section i has distance-pieces j at each end hinged at k to the distance-pieces l at the end of adjacent sections, the hinges being tightened by bolts.
