Burners, applications of; atmospheric gas burners.-Burners of the kind described in Specification No. 12,277, A.D. 1906, [Abridgment Class Stoves &c.], are employed for heating either the space a<1> above the oven of a cooking-stove or the space f<1> beneath it, or for lighting the coal fire. The gas pipe h supplying the heating burners is furnished with a coupling h<2> by which it is secured to either of the branch pipes h', h<6>, and it may be provided with a cock between the burners. The heating burners or separate burners may be used for lighting the fire, a flexible pipe i allowing the necessary movement of the burners. The firelighting burner or burners may be made in the form of a fire-bar. Fig. 4 shows a burner made in the form of a vertical fire-bar ; Fig. 5 shows an horizontal fire-bar comprising 'two burners. In both cases the burners have air inlets, contracted neck parts e<4>, Fig. 4, and flattened and distended mouths e<7>, Fig. 5. The gas is preferably supplied through a flexible removable pipe which can be jointed to the supply pipe j.
