Steam-generator furnaces; baffles; grates. - A depending baffle, arranged to deflect the products of combustion on to the incandescent fuel on the rear portion of the grate, is formed by a waterbox 11 connected by pipes 30 to water legs 2, 3. A pocket 32 at one end of the box is connected to the steam space of the boiler by pipes 33, 34, and the products of combustion are prevented from passing between the box 11 and the boiler by firebrick blocks 35. The rear portion 12 of the grate is pivoted, and can be rocked by the handle 17.
