The threads are soldered together at the places where they are secured to the stick, or they may be soldered to recessed plates e carried by the head and nut. The threads may be formed of silver, silvered copper, or other metal. The Specification in the original form as published under the Act of 1901 mentions the use of aluminium for the threads ; this subject-matter does not appear in the Complete Specification as accepted.
