Abstract

17,523. Knopf, S. July 31. Emulsions, making.-Mineral oils are emulsified by addition to oleic acid partly saponified with. alkali in the cold and in the presence of alcohol. By dilution with water an absorbent ointment-base is obtained, or by mixing with ceresin, paraffin, wax, &c., a soluble-vaseline-like product is obtained, which, on dilution with water, gives a lanolin-like substance.
