Abstract

Elastic-fluid turbines.-In apparatus of the type in which the driving-fluid acts on pockets in the circumference of a rotary disk, the explosive mixture is driven into the explosion chamber by pumps driven directly from the main shaft. The disk b is partly surrounded by a casing d of the form shown provided with an explosion chamber e whence a tangential passage leads to the circumference of the disk. Explosive mixture is supplied to the chamber e through a pipe i fitted with a non' return valve by pumps n driven by eccentrics P on the main shaft and a vaporizer k. The ignition mechanism g is actuated by tappets h on the disk b. A spring-controlled valve f is placed between the chamber e and the passage to the disk.
