Abstract
15,604. Warwick Machinery Co., [General Electric Co.]. July 6. Elastic-fluid turbines.-The blades 6 are riveted to the back of a channelled bar 10 of steel or other suitable material. The bar is then cut by a saw from the other side and bent to conform to the shape of the rotor. It is secured by caulking the rotor into grooves 12 in the channel or by means of separate caulking. strips. The blades may be formed from extruded metal bars and, being cut so as to provide shanks 7, 8, are riveted into the channel. The shrouding ring 9 is attached by riveting after the blade ring has been fixed in position in the rotor or stator. Fig. 7 shows a modification in which each blade is riveted to a separate piece of channel 15. The invention applies equally to both blades and fixed vanes.
