Abstract
5734. Arnold, E. E. March 22, 1905, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Elastic-fluid tur bines.-In turbines or compressors, the outer ends of the blades are secured by threading two or more strips of metal through holes in the blades, the strips between each two blades being twisted or turned one over another. This twisting may be done as the blades are being put in one by one, or after all the blades are in position. The constructions obtained by these two methods are shown in Figs. 1 and 3 respectively.
