Tables.-An operating-table top is built up in adjustable sections to enable various parts of the body to be exposed, and is supported by a metal framework comprising two U-shaped side bars 10 united by cross-bars 12 and stays 13. The angularly adjustable table top, which is pivoted to the legs at 15, comprises two bent side members 21, 23, connected by cross-bars 16, 24, 27, and a slotted bar 32 by means of which it is secured in position. The cross-bar 27 supports a pillar 34 carrying a small elliptical seat 37 and a pelvis clamp 35. The supports for the lower limbs, which may be placed in the plane of either the member 21 or 23, consists of two parts 40, 41 hinged together, the parts 41 beiog detachably secured to the centre post, the side frame, and the folding posts 47. The sections 40 have slots 43 for the reception of straps and are angularly adjustable, being held in position by means of rods 50 passing through yokes 51 pivoted to bars 50<1> beneath each section. An angularly adjustable and slidable back-rest 58 and a head-rest 57 are fitted to the main frame. A stretching-apparatus comprising a drum rotated by a ratchet-wheel 77 and lever 80 is fitted to a block 74 carried by adjustable rods 64<1>, 67, 84 clamped in sockets 62, 90 carried by the table legs. The sockets 62 may also support gynecological stirrups.
