Abstract
11,285. Schneider, A. A. May 14. Electric traction on the overhead - conductor system. Collectors.-Trolly wheels or collectors for electricity are provided with guards which fit on the sides of the wheel so as to assist in preventing disengagement from the conductor and in placing the wheel in position thereon ; special lubricating means are also provided. Fig. 2 shows a sectional end view of a trolly head with the guards D in position. The guards are made circular, with flaring rims E, and are prevented from rotating by projections F fitting into recesses in the harp G. The sides of the wheel are recessed so as to form with the guards receptacles for lubricant which reaches the axle through ducts H. Fig. 5 shows a slightly modified construction of the oil chamber In the trolly head shown in Fig. 4, the projections on the guards are made of a semicylindrical form and are adapted when brought together to be screwed into a sleeve F' on the end of the pole so as to dispense with a separate harp.
