Abstract
2209. Leake, E. A. Jan. 29. Electric railways and d tramways on the overheadconductor system. Collectors.-A pair of guiding - disks, automatically operated by the linewire, are loosely mounted on the trolly-wheel spindle on either side of the trolly wheel. Fig. 1 shows the disks 5 eccentrically mounted on the spindle 4, and having tapered flanges 6 projecting from the inner coned surfaces. If the trolly runs off the wire, the latter runs on one of the projecting flanges 6 and rotates the corresponding disk until the coned surface forces it on to the wheel again. Projections 10 on the outer surfaces of the disks engage projections 11 on the trolly fork and thus prevent complete rotation of the disks ; also, diametrically opposite projections 7, 9 at the periphery of the inner surfaces of the disks prevent the line-wire from becoming entirely detached from the trolly head.
