6009. Dean, A. March 12. Tables.-In expanding tables, as shown in Fig. 4, in which a part b of the frame is adapted to be pulled out from beneath the ordinary table top to support an extension leaf d, the extension leaf is provided with a tongue e adapted to engage in a groove on the inner face of the end piece of the table, so as to keep the leaf in position. A second leaf may be arranged between the leaf d and the top c. The extra leaf when not in use may be carried on supports g ; or the end of the table frame may be cut away and the leaf inserted as a drawer, a hinged cover being provided to close the aperture. The portion c of the table top may be hinged, so as to afford access to a receptacle beneath the top and also to form a desk.
