A hoop b, Figs. 1 and 3, with an internal diameter greater than that of the beam and with rectangular or curved recesses b<1>, b<2>, b<3>, is connected to or formed on an ordinary flange a, or a flange of lesser diameter connected to a corrugated or other flange. Metal blocks c with curved faces retained in the recesses by set-screws d are set up against the beam and adjusted by rotating the screws d, g. The inner ends of the screws d are plain, reduced in diameter, and riveted on the inside. The hoop may have a groove to receive a chain or strap for regulating the tension on the beam.
