Gumming, pasting, and the like.-Relates to labelling-machines of the type in which perforated label-carriers are brought step by step into the positions in which they are provided with adhesive material, the labels put on, and brought over the article to be labelled, whereupon a gripper descends and presses the label on the article through the perforation in the carrier. The portion of the label covering the perforation 6 in the label carrier is gummed on passing round the roller 2 by a projection 22 thereon which rubs against gumming- rollers 23, 24.
