884. Goodacre, H., Robertson, J., and Blackburn, F. Jan. 12. Heels.-A hollow cushion of india-rubber, felt, &c. is enclosed within the heel 5 of a boot or shoe, as shown in Fig. 1. The upper portion of the cushion bears against, or projects through, the insole of the boot, just under the bone of the heel of the wearer, and the lower portion of the cushion rests on a layer of leather 7 forming the lower portion of the heel.
