Dec. 7 Trestles.-A folding iron trestle, for supporting temporary fencing in the course of road excavations and other work, is constructed with two of its legs F, F, Figs. 2 and 5, pivoted to a bracket D provided with side cheeks D' to limit the opening. The rear leg B is pivoted between lugs on the bracket, as shown in Fig. 6, and is locked in the extended position by a locking-bar A arranged in slots E in the lugs so as to be moved to engage a notch C in the leg, as shown.
