Thrust and end-pressure bearings.-R e l a t e s to otter-boards provided with castor wheels at their bottom edges, and consists in so mounting such wheels that their spindle bearings do not project beyond the sides of the boards, and so that frictional wear between the wheels and their forks is obviated. The spindle A of the fork bracket a carrying a castor F is passed into a vertical hole D<1> in the board, which is recessed at the top and bottom of the hole to allow the spindle bearings B, C to lie flush with its faces. A collar A' on the spindle prevents it from falling out of its bearings. The upward thrust is taken by the upper bearing C, or the bracket may be formed with a boss A<2> to take against the outer face of the lower bearing. The holes in the bracket a receiving the wheel spindle K are fitted with readily removable bushes H, which protect the fork from wear by the side thrust of the wheel. The bushes are held by means of keys inserted in keyways in the fork. The bush J in the wheel is extended beyond the hub to bear against the fork bushes.
