Abstract

23,799. Proctor, Ltd., J., and Proo or, J. W. Oct. 26. Elevators.-Comprises means for feeding and regulating the supply of material to a bucket elevator. The material is discharged from a hopper A through an opening E on to a receiving-table F projecting over the elevator boot. The material is transferred to the buckets by a ram B, sliding in a box C beneath the hopper and reciprocated from the lower shaft Q of the elevator. The ram has a depending piece carrying a pin J sliding in slots J<1> and loosely connected to a rocking block K with a V-shaped opening. A crank N, driven from the shaft Q, carries a connecting-rod M, having a pin M<1> which engages in the opening in the block K. The pin M' is constrained by a slot R on a rod S which can be adjusted to vary the throw of the ram B either by the mechanism shown, or by pegging the end of the rod to any one of a number of holes in the elevator casing.
