Abstract

20,630. Reid, R. Sept. 17. Oil gas.-An oilgas apparatus comprises a tube adapted to be heated by a furnace, and containing indestructible porous or other material, the supply of oil being regulated by the motion of the gas-holder. The tube or generator A, of circuitous or other form, may be made of non-combustible material, such as vitrified clay, or copper or other metal, and is set in a furnace B with the inlet and outlet A<2> , A<3> passing preferably through the back of the furnace. The tube A is loosely filled with small pieces of a mixture of burnt lignite and clay, or with copper gauze, or small copper tubes. The oil-supply tank C is arranged on the gas holder in a manner similar to that described in Specification No. 18,923, A.D. 1905, but the supply is controlled by the motion of the bell c<1> through a lever c<2> and cock c. An ordinary cock c<5> is also provided.
