Abstract

Elastic-fluid turbines.-Turbine and screw-pump blades are fixed in a perforated channel-shaped foundation ring 3 by easting metal in the latter, the blades being temporarily held in position by a perforated strip. The blades may have pieces 1, 2 punched out of their roots to form shoulders as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, and also may have the roots flattened so as to simplify the form of the receiving holes 4, 5 required. The foundation rings are secured in grooves on the rotor or casing by caulking-strips 8 or by other means.
