Abstract
17,336. Freud, M. Aug. 1. Displaying.-Brackets for shop windows, of the type in which the bearing-arms are carried by notched or slotted'tubes, are made with a projection a rigidly fixed to the arm f and with a second projection b capable of turning freely in a depending portion of the said arm, in such a manner that, the fixed catch a having been inserted into the slot e of.the upright, as shown in Fig. 2, the bracket may be turned into the position shown in Fig. 3, and the movable projection introduced into the slot. The projection b is then turned transversely across the slot, and is clamped in position as shown in Fig. 4, by means of the nut d. The screwed stem attached to the clamp b may be flattened, as shown at e, or, as shown in Fig. 8, may be shaped to engage a slot h in the depending part of the bracket arm. The upright tube for holding the brackets may be made with one slot, Fig. 12, or with two, Fig. 13, the inner core a being of iron and the continuous outer casing b, of copper, brass, or nickel, being pressed over it as shown.
