Abstract

Motor-car radiators and the like are built up from elements consisting of pairs of channelled plates d, Fig. 6, one or both of which are also veined, for instance, as shown at c, Fig. 2, the water flowing between the plates. Pairs of elements are then placed face to face, as shown in Fig. 7, and bolted or riveted together, so as to produce tubular passages for the admission of air. The edges of the sheets are bent over to form a lapped joint.
