Girders and beams; reinforced concrete.-A reinforcing-truss for a concrete beam consists of superim- . posed rods g, h, Figs. 1 and 2, having inclined or vertical portions which form transverse bonds and are bent laterally across an upper longitudinal bar. The inclined portionsare arranged closer together towards the ends to take the shearing forces. Figs. 1 and 2 show two such trusses placed side by side and tied by bonds k, k<1>. One of the trusses may be inverted relatively to the other, as shown in Fig. 10. According to the Provisional Specification, the horizontal portions of the bars may be soldered together, and the bent ends may be wired to the upper bar.
