An aperture c is formed in the back of the camera and closed by a sliding door d. Films with unsensitized strips at intervals and the black covering-paper cut away to correspond, or films fully sensitized and of slightly more than usual length, may be used. When plates are used, the plate carrier has a corresponding aperture, a piece of black paper being placed between the plate and a piece of white paper at the back on which the observations are written. Provision is made in connexion with the camera for holding a pencil.
