Abstract

11,736. Thenser, J. May 19, 1905, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Stilts. - Adjustable stilts are formed with a series of grooves 4 in the uprights 2, which are' mounted on blocks having turned-up ends to allow of a rocking movement such as is given to the ball of the foot in walking. A foot-rest 11 with a toe-strap 12 is fixed in one of the grooves 4 by means of a U-shaped clip 13, which is locked in position by nuts &c. A rod 7 with a handle 8. can also be' adjusted by fixing a sleeve 9 in the desired groove 4. The' rod 7 is fixed to the sleeve 9, and passes through a sleeve 6 on a collar 5 clamped to the upper end of the stilt.
