Abstract

11,368. Truss, T. F. J. May 15. Forced ventilation.-Relates to a method of ventilating rooms &c., in which the air is driven upwards by a fan a against a deflector b which deflects the air currents horizontally toward the walls, down which they flow and circulate back to the fan. Inlets for fresh air may be provided.in the walls or ceiling. The fan a is driven by a motor arranged above the deflector b, which is of such a shape that it remains in equilibrium under the influence of the impelled streams of air. Fig. 1 shows a circular form for deflecting the upward current horizontally in all directions, and Fig. 2 shows a form comprising two curved planes, for deflecting the air in two directions only. Specifications No. 7283, A.D. 1905, [Abridgment Class Air and gases, Compressing &c.], is referred to.
