Bottles, non-refillable.-A frangible seal f, either formed of a thin plate or of a thick plate with a recessed centre, is fixed in the neck of a bottle above the cork, and may also be fixed by cement to the cork. The cork may be formed with a recess c<1>, to receive the fragments when the seal is pierced by a corkscrew. In a modification, the seal may be formed with a depending hook l, Fig. 3, adapted to be fixed by cement in the recess of the stopper. A celluloid guard k may be secured above the seal, to protect it from accidental breakage. The edge of this guard may be secured in a groove in the bottle neck. A piece of linen, fabric, sheet rubber, &c., may be interposed between the seal and the cork.
