Displaying.-Shelving for supporting and displaying goods in shops and elsewhere consists of two shelves adapted to be disposed on opposite sides of a show stand, an upright or column provided with grooves on its opposite faces in which tongues on the inner edges of the shelves engage, and connecting-bars which clamp the shelves to the show stand, further shelves being added to fill up any empty spaces on the shelving. In the special construction shown, two shelves a having a tongue a' fixed at the top, bottom, or some intermediate position of their inner edges are pin-jointed to connecting-bars. These bars may be formed from one piece of metal with the portion c vertical, but are preferably made as shown with the plate c riveted to the angle-pieces c', which are attached to the shelves by bolts and fly-nuts. The vertical portions may be turned downwards to cover the ends of the shelves. Smaller shelves d are slid into the open spaces on the shelf.
