Abstract

6761. Singleton, J. E. E., and Spreadbury, E. L. March 21. Incandescent gas burners. - The secondary air inlets b of an inverted burner are arranged at the same level as or immediately below the gas nipple e, and are surrounded b y a n annular chamber f, the flat top of which i s provided w i t h a hit-and-miss valve g. The bore of the burner tube is tapered from its upper to near its lower end. According to the Provisional Specification, the burner, tube and fittings are made of softened cast iron electro-plated with brass or nickel, and the burner is provided with a loosely-fitting baffle-plate resting on the mantle ring.
