Abstract

4523. Zeiss, C., [Firm of]. May 14, 1905, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Lenses.-Relates to tele-objectives of a fixed focal length in which, with a view to simplifying the design, the positive and negative elements are each uncorrected for spherical and astigmatic aberrations as in simple lenses. The errors of one system are corrected by those of the other. Fig. 1 shows a simple system of this kind which is spherically and astigmatically corrected but not chromatically. Fig. 3 shows a modification in which each elej-ent is chromatically corrected. Other modifications are shown and the necessary constructional data given in the Specification.
