Abstract

3905. Applegarth, E., and Quain, J. R. Feb. 16. Gases and vapours, treating electrically.-The electrodes of an ozonizer are hermetically sealed in vacuo or not, in vessels of glass or other suitable material. In one form, Fig. 1, the ozonizer consists of a sealed tube D containing one electrode d<2> and embraced by a sealed annular cylinder C containing the other electrode c<2>. The electrodes are suitably connected to a transformer supplied by any suitable electric generator or other source of supply. Suitable studs d<3> separate the two containers C, D to allow of the circulation of the air, or other materials containing oxygen to be ozonized, by a fan which is actuated, mechanically or electrically, by the generator or another source of current respectively. In another form of ozonizer, Fig. 2, the electrodes f<3>, f<4> are sealed in envelopes F made of plates of glass &c. and kept apart by separators f<5>.
