Abstract

3250. Rothwell, A. W. H. Feb. 10. Signals, time-alarm.- A clock is connected to an electric bell, the circuit being completed through the works of the clock and an adjustable terminal F, Fig. 2, which passes through the hole b in the glass B, mounted loosely in the groove e so as to be capable of rotation. The metallic connector F projects inwards to but does not touch the dial C, and its position is such that it is out of the path of the minute-hand D<1>. The hour-hand D has a connector d to engage with the peg F. This connector d, Fig. 5, may be in one piece with the hand or may be pivoted to it and is held in position by means of the spring G. The alarm is set by turning the glass until the peg is brought opposite the desired hour. Different forms of pegs are shown in Figs. 3 and 4. If an alarm is required within the hour, a second hole b<1>, Fig. 1, is provided which allows the peg-to come into the path of the minutehand D<1>.
