Tyres, pneumatic -A tyre lever consists of a handle with two prongs 1, Fig. 1, provided with pivoted bars 2 adapted to act as strut-pieces between one edge of the rim and the opposite edge of the tyre cover. Fig. 9 shows a side view of a prong on being inserted, and Fig. 11 the final position when the edge 7 of the cover has slipped over a lug 5 on the prong, the end of which bears against the edge 8, and a lug 4 on the bar 2 engages the rim 6. The prongs 2 may be integral with the handle, or form the extremities of a U-shaped bar ; they may be pivoted to the handle or be provided with a socket into which is fitted the handle which is then adapted to be used independently as a lever. In modifications, the bars 2 may be short so that the ends rest under the rim 6, and the lugs 4, 5 are fitted so as to be adjustable in position, or pivoted in the bars and pressed by springs and controlled by catches &c., or finally replaced by equivalent recesses.
