Felloes or rims ; spokes. - In detachable tyrecarrying rims of the kind which are secured directly to the spokes, clamps on the spokes grip the rim. In the construction shown in Fig. 2, a socket 5 fits over the thinned end of the spoke and rests against a shoulder. A fixed arm 6 extending from the upper part of the socket engages one side of the rim. On the other side, a movable arm 7 seated on a lug 5<1> on the socket engages the rim, against which it is pressed by a bolt and nut. A coiled spring 11 presses the arm outwards when the nut is loosened. Fig. 3 shows a modification in which the arm 7 is pivoted on the socket and a spring wound round the pivot. In the form shown in Fig. 4, a roller 12 on an inclined surface 13 on the socket is forced against the rim by the nut 10 and washer 14. A spring 15 draws the roller away when released. The springs may be dispensed with, and both arms may be made movable.
