Bins &c. for storing material such as small machine parts are made with uprights a wherein downwardly inclined slots d are cut, the grooves serving as guides for the downturned edges g of the trays e. The uprights a are connected by cross-pieces b, c at the bottom and top, and diagonal braces c<1> serve to stiffen the structure ; the particular formation of tray described also assists in effecting this. The grooved wooden uprights a may be replaced by bars or strips of metal supporting tongues with grooves d<2> therein as shown in Fig. 4, or such tongues may be punched out of the solid metal. Flap doors j, Fig. 11, may be pivoted at m to the fronts of the various recesses, and instead of trays drawers or shelves may be supported in the grooves, and the back parts of such trays or shelves may be turned up to prevent articles from falling out behind. Various sections may be joined together by means of cross-shaped jointing-pieces.
