Abstract

190,554. Bjerke, A. Sept. 28, 1921. Systems of charging and discharging galvanic batteries. -A charging station for vehicle batteries is provided with means for cutting out a battery when fully charged, simultaneously reducing the output of the generator and stopping the motor driving the generator when all the batteries are disconnected. The charging circuits of the batteries A, B and C contain an ampÞre-hour meter AM, a main switch S, and a minimum current circuit-breaker MB. Each meter AM controls the circuit of the trip coil US of the switch S which is coupled with a switch k, controlling a section of a regulating resistance R in the shunt field circuit of a generator D, and a switch u controlling the circuit of the coil h of a switch H in the circuit of the motor M in such a manner that when all the switches S are open the coil h is de-energized and the motor M is disconnected.
