Delivery, regulating.-A lubricating-pump for steam-engines &c. is operated by steam admitted to the cylinder f by a pipe d, leading from the admission pipe c of the power cylinder b. The pistons of the steam and oil cylinders f, g are mounted on the rod h. Oil is drawn through the pipe i and forced through the pipe j to the bearings. The pipe m connects the pipe j to the valve chamber e, containing a valve by means of which the supply of steam to the pump is regulated by the pressure of the oil. In place of the piston pump, a centrifugal pump may be used.
