Vapour burners; vaporizing-apparatus.-S p i r i t or other combustible liquid is supplied from an annular reservoir a to the space between inner and outer dishes f, e, the supply being controlled by. a plug b, which serves to regulate the flame. Heat-conducting wires g, preferably attached to the inner dish, are placed in the space between the dishes so as to conduct heat down to the spirit and so vaporize it. To start the burner, spirit is placed in the inner dish and ignited. The wires g and the inner dish f become hot and conduct heat to the spirit, which becomes vaporized and burns at apertures h at the top of the dishes. The inner dish is made removable to facilitate cleaning. In a modification, each dish may be formed with a central tube, as shown in Fig. 3, so as to give a central air supply. In a further modification, Fig. 4, the central tube is closed at the bottom and supplied with spirit by an aperture o, a pin z with heat-conducting wires. g being placed in the tube so as to form an additional burner, which may be used for keeping cooked food warm. Though shown applied to a spirit cooker, the burner may be used generally.
