Golf bags.-A golf or like bag is provided with two supporting - legs so arranged that they normally lie close to the bag but can be moved outwards to form a stand by depression of a thumbpiece. The upper ends of the legs B are secured in sockets b<1> pivoted to inclined faces c formed on the frame C, which is secured to the bag by screws and by a strap c<1>. The legs may be turned away from the sides of the bag and at the same time spread apart from one another by pressing with the thumb on the roller e and thus turning the bent lever d<1>, d<3> about the centre d<2> against the action of springs D bearing against the arms d'. This action causes the legs B to slide in the segmental frame d<5>, Figs. 1 and 6. The legs B may be secured in their closed position by a short strap a<2>. A strengthening-band c<x> may be provided to prevent distortion of the bag when the roller e is pushed. If the bag is made of limp material, a stiffening- rod may be secured along its side. In the modification shown in Fig. 8, the springs D are spiral tension springs, and the legs B engage with loose rings b<3> adapted to slide along the curved piece d<6>, which partly encircles the bag.
