Abstract
16,907. Malnburg, J. E. Aug. 21. Hose and other flexible pipes.-Relates to a support for fire, lawn, or sprinkling hose, consisting of a tripod having legs 1, 2, 3 hinged to a tripod head, the leg 3 being hollow and provided with coupling- tubes 13, 14, fitted with valves for conducting water from the pipe line to the nozzle 21. This nozzle is connected to the leg 3 by a flexible pipe 20 attached to a curved metal pipe 16 having a rotary connexion with the leg. Pivoted to the tube 16 are arms 22, which engage with a collar 23 surrounding the flexible pipe and which also terminate in a handle 24 for directing the nozzle. The legs are connected by a chain 8 to prevent spreading, and when the device is left to discharge water on a fire &c., it can be secured in place by a chain 9, attached to the tripod head and to a screw eye 10 fixed to the floor &c. A hook is fitted to the tripod head so that the device can be supported from a ladder.
