Abstract
16,502. Johnson, A. M., and Ryan, T. Aug. 14. Door holders.- The casing of a sliding bolt fixed near the bottom of adoor&c. is pivoted at 12 to enable the bolt to be shot horizonally, to engage with the staple 7 on the framing 1, or vertically so that the serrations 11 at its end engage with the floor and act as a door holder. Stops are fixed on the door to limit the motion of the bolt casing. The sliding bolt 6 may be clamped in any position and prevented from being completely withdrawn from its casing by means of a screw 17 engaging with a flat face cut in the central portion of the bolt. The screw 17 may be replaced by any other locking- device, and a spring may be used for projecting the bolt.
