Abstract

Testing boiler water.-Relates to an apparatus for testing, while a steam boiler is in operation, whether sufficient incrustation - preventing substance is present in the water. A glass tube 1 can be put into communication with the boiler gauge through the tube 5 and three-way cock 4. Tne chemical reagent or indicator is contained in the vessel 8 which is provided with a dropping rod and valve 12. The colour resulting from the mixture of the reagent and the boiler water determines if the necessary quantity of the preventive substance is present in the boiler. By enclosing the apparatus in a locked case 16, tampering therewith is prevented.
