Condensers, regulating water level in.-The steamcondensing tank 1 is placed in free communication with an auxiliary vessel 8, which contains a float 32 controlling respectively through the valves 13, 21 the cold water supplied to the tank by the pipe 3 and the steam working the pump 5 drawing water from the tank. The valves are preferably sliding valves, the spindles 14, 22 of which pass freely through holes in the block 25 and terminate in cross-pieces 28, 27. Springs 16, 23 press the valves on their seats when the cross-pieces are out of contact with the block. The upper communicating-pipe 10 between the vessels 1, 8 extends downwards into the latter vessel and has sloping perforations in its sides, as shown.
