Boat-disengaging gear.-An automatic releasing- device for boats consists of a ring 1, which is fastened to the boat &c., and through which passes a shackle 4 having at its lower end a pivoted bar 9. When the boat is water-borne, on further slackening the rope the weighted end 11 of the bar falls and the shackle may be withdrawn through the ring 1, swinging being prevented by a stop 14 against which the lighter end strikes. The device is fitted with a safety chain 12.
