8910. Clerc, J. April 27. Stoppers.-Bottles and like vessels containing liquids, sterilized in an autoclave or digester, are closed by a metallic cap d, adapted to engage both the mouth g of the vessel and the upper surface of a washer c which rests on an annular collar a, the contacting surfaces of all the parts being made plane. The cap d is forced on to the neck by the external pressure as the liquid cools. The closure is also applicable to vessels containing alimentary products, and substances which are readily condensable and which absorb air or moisture. In such cases, the cap should be provided with a device to facilitate its removal. [Reference has been directed under Patents Act, 1902, to Specification No. 21,347, A.D. 1903.]
