Ships' frames and framing ; tanks. - In ships having topside water-tight chambers of the kind described in Specification No. 16,164, A.D. 1904, the frame a is made of bulbangle bar, bulb-T bar, or Z-bar, of sufficient strength to enable the ordinary reverse bar to be dispensed with. T h i s frame bar is bent inwards so that it runs along the inside of the chamber, and to it is attached a separate frame c which is taken up to the shell plating as shown. The inwardly-projecting flange of the vertical frame is notched to receive the stringer bar d, the web of the frame remaining intact.
