Abstract
2684. Chalk Power Gas Syndicate, and Stoneham, H.S. Feb. 9. Generators or producers.-A lime-kiln is built between two gas-producers, the gas from one producer being burned in the kiln and the carbon dioxide, resulting from combustion and the decomposition of the lime, being discharged into the second producer to form power gas. The gas from the producer A flows through a passage k to the lime-kiln B, which is supplied with a blast of air, or air and steam, through an inlet b<1>. The products of combustion and the carbon dioxide from the limestone then flow through a passage to the second producer C which may be connected to a suction main M. The three chambers A, B, C may be at the same or at different levels. Boshes bare provided at the lower part of the kilo, so that the lime is delivered to the centre of the space J, which forms a discharging-hopper. A counterbalanced valve j is provided at the bottom of this space so that the lime is automatically discharged.
